KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Monday that wide receiver Xavier Worthy is “day to day” with a shoulder injury.
Worthy suffered the injury on the Chiefs’ first series in their season-opening loss Friday to the Chargers when he collided with tight end Travis Kelce.
“I know Xavier’s the big question,” Reid said. “He’s rehabbing and working his shoulder. We’ll just see where it goes.”
The Chiefs play the Eagles at 3:25 p.m. Sunday at Arrowhead in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl. If Worthy can’t play, the Chiefs will be without their top two receivers again as Rashee Rice will miss his second straight game as he sits out a six-game suspension to start the season.
Hollywood Brown led the Chiefs with 10 catches for 99 yards against the Chargers while JuJu Smith-Schuster added five catches for 41 yards and Tyquan Thornton added two catches for 41 yards.
“I thought guys did a god job of stepping up in these roles,” Reid said.
