The Kansas City Chiefs and star defensive tackle Chris Jones agreed to a record-breaking five-year contract Saturday.

Jones has secured $95 million in guaranteed money, and his agency posted on Twitter the contract will be the largest for a defensive tackle in NFL history. To celebrate the deal, Jones posted “KC….5 more years of greatness! 3x”

Jones has been a standout defensive lineman since the Chiefs drafted him in the second round out of Mississippi State in 2016. Jones has been selected to the Pro Bowl the last five seasons and has been named an All-Pro the last two.

In eight seasons with the Chiefs, Jones has 75.5 sacks—fifth all-time in team history. Last season Jones missed the entirety of the team’s offseason program and the first game of the season as he sat out in a contract dispute. Jones then signed a one-year deal with incentives to recoup his losses and he wasted no time doing that.

Jones record a sack in his first five games back and finished the year with 10.5, including one in the regular season finale against the Chargers that earned him a $1 million bonus. Jones had half a sack against the Dolphins in the wild card round then helped the Chiefs to wins over the Bills, Ravens and 49ers as they won their second straight Super Bowl and third in five seasons.

Keeping Jones, who turns 30 in July, in a Chiefs uniform was a top priority this offseason. The team also re-signed linebacker Drue Tranquill and placed the franchise tag on cornerback L’Jarius Sneed earlier in the week as free agency officially begins Wednesday.
